Fema - So, should I have lied like so many others?
I applied for assistance on 09/17/2017. After waiting for hours at a time each call I spoke with several different CSRs whose only consolation was, "Due to the volume of requests ot may take a few weeks for an inspection." While my roof damage is what I consider minor, missing shingles and a small leak; I have septic system damage from back-up into my house and also damage from power surges prior to subsequently begin without power for 5 days.
Mind you, I uploaded photos of the damage along with receipts. After being subject to a phone "inspection" of damage, and adjuster came out on 10/22/2017. If FEMA hadn't been so gungho handing out funds to people claiming their 50" tv was damaged, perhaps they could assist those of us who have ACTUAL storm damages. I feel as though many of us are being penalized for being reasonable and prudent homeowners by mitigating our damages!
I suppose I should have left the sewage soaked clothing and floating flooring in place for 34 days! My denial reason: because the damage caused by the disaster has not made your home unsafe to occupy.
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
